Job Description
- Monitor and troubleshoot chillers, all the pumps, Filtration plant room, Monitor and troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment including air handlers, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs) and controls.
- Perform water chemical tests and utility meter readings daily.
- Log meter readings and make appropriate adjustments to the energy management system as required.
- Monitor electric motors pumps, blowers, exhaust fans, cold rooms, lifting pumps, MV rooms and the lighting systems in all parts of the hotel. Perform safety checks on related equipment as required.
- Monitor all the plant rooms on a daily basis and always make clean and tidy in all the plant rooms.
- Perform preventive maintenance program as per the schedule for all the plant rooms.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Inspect and diagnose malfunctioning tools, equipment, electrical systems, apparatus, and components.
- Knowledgeable in motor controls. Able to read & understand the controller circuits. Can design & do control circuit wiring. Use testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes. Test batteries in generators, emergency lighting, etc.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications.
- Follow all job instructions given by your superior.
- Report any serious maintenance problem or safety related issues to superior immediately.
- Follow duty schedule/Split duty and carry out any other assignment given by superior as business demand.
- Communicate each day’s activities and problems that occur to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
- To thoroughly investigate each job as assigned to ensure that only the necessary spare parts are used and to avoid unnecessary wastage of engineering supplies.
- Follow up Company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment. Attend all departmental trainings and other training program.
- Report works related to accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to the superior.
- Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and use correct lifting procedures as necessary to avoid injury. Follow hazardous Material management program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals etc. using material safety data sheets. Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to Shift in charge. Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines. Complete appropriate Fire and safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
- Emergencies – To be available for any emergencies and act in a professional manner to protect our Guests, Staffs and preserve the Hotel Property and its system. Follow Hotel Crises plan.
- To learn and carry out fire brigade duties when assigned.
- Address guest’s service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner. Welcome and acknowledge each guest with smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using guest’s name if possible.
- Develop and maintain positive and productive working relations with other employees and departments. Any job-related complaints or grievances to be handled promptly with your superior.
- To complete the personal daily job record book accurately and keep ready for inspection.
- To fully comprehend the building automation system operation, alarm, and functionality.
- To participate in new equipment installation projects.
- To Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: plumbing, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, energy conservation, and/or general building.
- To Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains).
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Follow the clean as you go policy. Keep all his working areas neat and tidy. Store all his tools and materials in a safe and secure place. While working in the Guest and public areas, special attention is required to protect surrounding areas from any damage and inconvenience to the guests. During the site work do not leave any materials and tools unattended.
- To perform engineering-related inventory duties if required.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
Skills
- Proven experience as Industrial Electrician.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly with a great deal of patience.
- Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in awkward spaces.
- Diploma from a trade school or successful completion of apprenticeship.
- Valid license to practice profession (preferable).
