Job Description
- Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette including answering the phone within 3 rings, answering with a smile in one's voice, using the callers' name, transferring calls to appropriate person/department, requesting permission before placing the caller on hold, taking and relaying messages, and allowing the caller to end the call.
- Provide assistance to coworkers, ensuring they understand their tasks.
- Identify room assignments and type of cleaning required for each room.
- Contact Engineering or Housekeeping staff directly for urgent repairs.
- Respond promptly to requests from guests.
- Use checklists to ensure that cleanliness and condition of each assigned area meets designated standards.
- Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
- Request preventative maintenance or non-urgent repairs using appropriate method.
- Check with the appropriate source (e.g., Housekeeping office, manager/supervisor) for additional assignments throughout the shift.
- Document and report outstanding issues that need to be handled to the manager/supervisor after shift is complete.
- To maintain all the documents and registers of Housekeeping daily use, and policies procedures.
- Safe keep, record and collect keys and papers held within the HK Office.
- Ensure the sorting of all daily activity reports in the HK Office.
- Record all incoming calls, ensure all messages are disseminated and followed up accordingly.
- Handle all issues pertaining to Lost & Found - receiving, recording, storage, claiming and clearing.
- Update and maintain all HK files.
