Job Description
- Creates a positive team atmosphere among Team Members and Treats all Team Members fairly, with respect.
- Responsible for the efficient operation of all catering functions during assigned events.
- Ensures that all events are executed flawlessly by managing and training the banquet staff while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Runs the floor and coordinates the food and drink service by liaising with the kitchen and service staff.
- Ensures the efficiency in serving and in the kitchen and supporting staff with extra hands-on deck.
- Maintains records of staff periodic manner and operating costs.
- Provides feedback and coaching to the Team regularly.
- Works with food and beverage staff to ensure proper food presentation and proper food-handling procedures.
- Handles guest complaints.
- Schedules periodic food and beverage service staff meetings to ensure correct interpretation of policies and obtain feedback from staff members.
- Ensures new products are executed properly following roll-out.
- Ensures product quality and great service.
- Shows enthusiasm for guests.
- Flexible in dealing with changes/problems (e.g., being short staffed).
- Can effectively forecast event needs.
- Shifts priorities and goals as work demands change.
- Prioritize tasks effectively to ensure most important tasks are completed on time.
- Delegates and follows-up effectively.
- Coaches team on how to exceed Guest expectations.
- Takes accountability for problems, does not blame others.
- Effectively identifies problems through reports and execute to resolve the same.
- Assists in planning regular and special event food & drinks.
Skills
- Proficient in using computer software to monitor inventory, track staff schedules and pay, and perform other record keeping tasks.
- Experience in supervising banquet venue staff
- Ability to collaborate with Banquet Sales Directors and Head Chef.
- Extensive knowledge of catering equipment and venue requirements
- In-depth knowledge of hospitality industry best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of foods in high-end catering service or restaurants.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse speaking work force.
- Effectively plan and multi-task in a busy environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
